How to be Saved

Steps for Salvation

(1).  God loves you very much. He wants you to have peace, joy, and abundance.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."  John 3:16 NIV
"The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.  I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep." John 10:10-11 ASV

(2).  Because we have all sinned and became separated from God, we don't have peace, joy, or abundance.  "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  Romans 3:23 NIV   We are at war with God and with ourselves.  This alienation from God will lead to miserable and wretched life. We are now in bondage of our sin.  How can we experience God's peace?  He is willing to offer to us salvation as a free gift. How can we become truly set free from our bondage?  God has given us His solution.  Jesus Christ is the answer!

(3).  Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sin. The Bible says Jesus is preparing a place for us in heaven. "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. " John 14:2 NIV
Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to Father except through him. John 14:6

(4). We must therefore individually confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior; and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead.  Then we shall be saved.  What does it mean to be saved?  If you are saved, you will go to heaven when you die.  If you are saved, you will become a whole person.  God will bless you and will take care of your body, soul, and spirit.
"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."  (Romans 10:9)

(5). We must walk in obedience with Him.
"Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him. " I John 3:21-22
King Solomon with his wisdom gave us the nutshell of our whole duty. "Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man."  Ecclesiastes 12:13 NIV

You can receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior right now.  Pray the following prayer and make the commitment to walk with Him from this day on.  Your life will never be the same!

“Lord, I receive you as  my Lord and Savior.  I believe you died for me on the cross for my sins.  You are the King of Kings, Lord of Lords.  Thank you for washing away all of my sins.  I am now a born-again child of God.  I will trust you and obey you all the days of my life. In the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and my Savior, I pray,  Amen.”
