Gold Dust, is this from God?

H. Michael Noizumi, Pastor of Desert Harvest Church, Palm Desert, California

I always pray for revival for our church, community, nation, and the world.  I believe the Lord will pour out His Spirit in the latter days and we will experience many wonderful miracles, conversions, healings, and other signs and wonders.  However, the Bible teaches us to be always alert and watchful.  One of the most powerful gifts of the Holy Spirit is discernment.  If we can study and research with our mind and intellect alone and become able to distinguish what is from God and what is not from God, we would not be in need of the Holy Spirit.  Because we are so prone to errors, the Holy Spirit gives us his wonderful gifts.  One of them is discernment.

I would like you to read the following article I found in the website by an evangelist.  Please allow the Holy Spirit to give you discernment as you read the following:

"EMMA, ANGEL OF THE PROPHETIC

Now let me talk about an angelic experience with Emma. Twice Bob Jones asked me about this angel that was in Kansas City in 1980: "Todd, have you ever seen the angel by the name of Emma?

" He asked me as if he expected that this angel was appearing to me. Surprised, I said, "Bob, who is Emma?" He told me that Emma was the angel that helped birth and start the whole prophetic movement in Kansas City in the 1980s. She was a mothering-type angel that helped nurture the prophetic as it broke out. Within a few weeks of Bob asking me about Emma, I was in a service in Beulah, North Dakota. In the middle of the service I was in conversation with Ivan and another person when in walks Emma. As I stared at the angel with open eyes, the Lord said, "Here's Emma." I'm not kidding. She floated a couple of inches off the floor. It was almost like Kathryn Khulman in those old videos when she wore a white dress and looked like she was gliding across the platform. Emma appeared beautiful and young-about 22 years old-but she was old at the same time. She seemed to carry the wisdom, virtue and grace of Proverbs 31 on her life.

She glided into the room, emitting brilliant light and colors. Emma carried these bags and began pulling gold out of them. Then, as she walked up and down the aisles of the church, she began putting gold dust on people. "God, what is happening?" I asked. The Lord answered: "She is releasing the gold, which is both the revelation and the financial breakthrough that I am bringing into this church. I want you to prophecy that Emma showed up in this service-the same angel that appeared in Kansas city-as a sign that I am endorsing and releasing a prophetic spirit in the church." See, when angels come, they always come for a reason; we need to actually ask God what the purpose is. Within three weeks of that visitation, the church had given me the biggest offering I had ever received to that point in my ministry. Thousands of dollars! Thousands! Even though the entire community consisted of only three thousand people, weeks after I left the church the pastor testified that the church offerings had either doubled or tripled."

I believe we should NOT take everything that happens in a revival as a genuine sign from God.  Jesus says render unto God what belongs to God and render unto Caesar what belongs to him.

First of all,  I have a real problem with Gold Dust that is talked about by many Christians today.  The gold dust has been a theme of many paintings throughout the centuries.  My wife and I visited Louvre, British Museum, and Metropolitan Museum in New York and found many painting of “Gold Dust”

various artist have done many paintings on the theme of gold dust as it was a fascinating subject.  It all started with the Greek mythology.  Danae, the woman depicted in nude was so beautiful Zeus became infatuated with her.  As she was confined in a tower, Zeus became a shower of gold dust and sneaked into her chamber and descended upon her.  She became impregnated by the gold shower and became mother of Perseus.

I am convinced the gold dust story belongs to the pagan Greek mythology and it does not belong in the Holy Bible.

Another troubling thing many Christians seem to be preoccupied nowadays is their unhealthy interest in angels.  If someone tells you he is in daily contact with an angel named "Baal", you would be alarmed.  I am shocked to hear the name of the angel mentioned in the above website. He calls her "Emma".  This Emma is a Japanese deity who presides over hell.  I grew up in Japan and am very familiar with this deity. Here is the picture of ENMA":

The lanterns on both sides of the statue reads: Enma Daio, or Great King of Enma.  He is the chief deity according to Buddhism presiding over the hell.

I would be very careful if an angel comes to me and identifies himself (or herself) as Emma!

I am troubled also that many evangelists who are promoting revivals today seem to emphasize material gains rather than repentance and humbling ourselves before God.  The above article says the following:

"Within three weeks of that visitation, the church had given me the biggest offering I had ever received to that point in my ministry. Thousands of dollars! Thousands!"

Somehow this angel Emma seems  like the mammon Jesus talks about more than a genuine messenger from God.  He (the author of the above mentioned article) says the angel Emma will bring you a breakthrough in your finances.  Don't believe it.  Jesus says, "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things (material things) will be added unto you."  Trust Jesus.  He knows what you need.  He will provide for all your daily needs.

"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
(Matthew 6:24 NKJV)

According to the Book of Acts, the early apostles did not seem to care about gold.  It reads:

"Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."  Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong.
(Acts 3:6-8 NIV)

Do we need to seek after gold or money or angels in our Christian walk?  Isn't the name of Jesus all powerful and all sufficient?  Isn't that all we need?!  The power of Jesus' name!  Why not convince the world what they need now is the name of Jesus, the most powerful name since the creation of the universe!

Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?  But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.  If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
(from New International Version  1 Corinthians 12:14-20)
